By now, you’ve seen the pictures and videos from the White House Correspondent’s Dinner on Saturday where comedian Michelle Wolf roasted the hell out of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Wolf was a “bad” girl with her direct line of jokes toward Sanders. Many in attendance, didn’t laugh at Wolf’s comedic forwardness, others were in “outspoken” heaven with Wolf’s comedy as they enjoyed some good ol’ healthy laughs.
Veteran comedian Dave Chappelle was utterly impressed with Wolf, as many of us were. “I really respected what I saw,” Dave Chappelle said in an interview with PBS’ NewsHour. “I don’t know who those people think they are that she can’t say that to them, because they offend people all the time.” The well-known comedian also shared that it was “cathartic” for some people to witness Wolf’s roast and “speak truth to power like that.” Chappelle added that he aligns with the amount of pressure Wolf was under to deliver her monologue and he respects her “artistry.”
We agree with Chappelle, you have to respect Wolf’s “gangsta.” She got up there in front of all those haughty folks and rocked the hell out of her time. And she didn’t flinch, quiver, stagger or shy away as she spoke her words. Great job!!
