Issa Rae Trending on Twitter Because of Her Book That Came Out Three Years Ago

At some point, a celebrity’s fans will make an attempt to nail them to a cross.  And such it is with Issa Rae, star and creator of HBO’s hit series Insecure. Word is that Rae’s book written three years again, about an awkward black girl has readers in a “black” girl stink!   The book, titled The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, received great reviews for the author’s sarcastic, in your fast humor and helped establish a credible fan base of “me-too” awkward black girls.

It seems one of the chapter’s in the book in which Rae gives a run down of how difficult it is for successful black women to have a worthwhile dating life has some of her sista-girls tossing in their awkward girl card.  Rae suggests – in the book – black women date outside of their race.  Not just outside, but Asian men outside.  Her reasoning is because they too aren’t the most desirable of men.

I don’t think any of us are surprised some would like to see Rae’s show, INSECURE canceled.  Folks need to stop… you enjoy her outspokenness regarding every other social issue, but not this one.  Go grab some snacks, and come back… because INSECURE on HBO isn’t going anywhere for a while.

Take a look at what’s on page 138 of The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl below.
